  Elizabeth Roberts - portrait

I’m interested in examining the relationships between fungi and bacteria that co-inhabit plant leaves. In addition, I want to provide a better understanding of nutrient acquisition strategies used by non-pathogenic microbial colonizers. Specifically, I am interested in examining whether there is a symbiotic relationship between bacterial and fungal endophytes and/or epiphytes. In particular, I hope to determine whether or not the presence of bacterial colonizers has an impact on nutrient availability or acquisition by the fungi.
